About
The Antique Alcove Company was founded around a simple belief: built-in furniture should feel like it belongs in the home.
I'm Sean Mullins, and I design, build and install every project myself. Working closely with each client from the initial design through to the final installation allows me to create furniture that is tailored to both the space and the character of the property.
Rather than relying on modern sheet materials and factory-made components, I build using reclaimed antique pine and carefully sourced period materials wherever possible. These original materials bring warmth, character and authenticity that cannot be replicated with newly manufactured alternatives.
Every piece is designed around the proportions and original features of the home, whether that's a Victorian fireplace, period skirting boards or the natural quirks of an older property. The aim is not simply to add storage, but to create furniture that sits naturally within the space and complements its surroundings.
By giving historic materials a new purpose, I create bespoke fitted furniture with a lower environmental impact while preserving the qualities that make older homes special.
